Ryukyu Diver

Hitori’s first installment is the Ryukyu Diver collection. Significantly inspired by the subtropical islands that make up the Southern part of Okinawa in Japan, they are spectacular spots for scuba divers and sport fishing. These islands include zestful environments serenaded by stunning coral reefs, vivid hard corals, rock and sandy bottom filled with limestones, and big walls. Environmental terrain aside, of course, is the grandeur of beautiful sea creatures - from unique fish to turtles, mantas, and even some whales. All these nautical charms are exuded on the Ryukyu Diver Coral Blue.

This imminent watch collection grabs the spotlight with its incredible nostalgic timepieces that redefine the classic style uniquely to the land of the rising sun.

Exquisite Craftsmanship Behind

Japanese Case Design

Crafted from durable 316L stainless steel, the Ryukyu Diver embraces the wrist with perfectly balanced proportions, offering comfort without compromising presence. Its case design channels the spirit of 1960s skin-divers; slim, purpose-driven, and instantly recognizable. With signature L-shaped lugs, a screw-down case back, and a bold crown at 3 o’clock, it brings back the golden era of recreational diving with a refined, modern twist.

Where the Ryukyu Diver truly dazzles is in its case finishing. Here, Hitori shows its hand combining mirror-like polish, fine satin brushing, and crisp polished bevels in a way that feels far more luxurious than its price suggests. The circular satin finish on the case top recalls the best of vintage Japanese divers, executed to perfection. Every angle catches the light differently, revealing a level of detail rarely seen in this category.

Sapphire Craftsmanship, Dial and Bezel Details

For collectors, it's the details that truly set a timepiece apart, and Hitori excels in this regard with the Ryukyu Diver’s 2.7mm thick ceramic bezel. Finished with precisely spaced numerals filled with vibrant Super-LumiNova, it delivers a brilliant glow that remains ever-present. The 120-click unidirectional rotation is smooth and precise, with a satisfying metallic snap at each turn—a small yet telling feature that highlights the watch’s purpose-built, diver-ready design.

Beneath the domed sapphire crystal, the dial pays a refined homage to classic dive watch aesthetics. Each applied hour marker is framed in high-gloss metal and filled with luminous paint for a uniform, glowing layout. The faceted hands are meticulously crafted, satin-brushed on top and mirror-polished at the sides, ensuring both elegance and legibility. A convex, metallic-framed date window at 3 o’clock adds balance, mirroring the satin finish throughout. Every element has been carefully considered, reflecting the design language that collectors deeply appreciate and love to wear.

Precision-Engineered Japanese Movement

Flipping the Ryukyu Diver over reveals the screw-down case-back, where Hitori adds a nostalgic touch with its embossed oriental “wave” emblem. Surrounding it, you’ll find the watch specifications and serial number spaced out neatly, all while maintaining a sense of classic charm. Underneath, the movement choice is another nod to Hitori’s oriental roots: the automatic caliber NH36A. This 12-ligne Japanese movement features 24 jewels, manual winding, and quick date correction via the screw-down crown at 3 o’clock. It beats at a steady 3Hz (21,600BPH) and offers hacking seconds for precision time-setting. With a solid 41-hour power reserve when fully wound, this movement is as reliable as it is nostalgic.

A Sporty Bracelet That Elevates Everything

The Ryukyu Diver comes equipped with a sturdy 20mm sports bracelet, featuring the signature “ひとり” emblem on the clasp. The bracelet is expertly crafted, with satin-polished surfaces, mirror-finished sides, and robust solid end-links that seamlessly integrate with the case. The drilled lug holes provide added convenience for strap enthusiasts, allowing for easy swaps. Hitori also offers an array of fabric military nylon and rubber straps, giving wearers the flexibility to customize their look while maintaining the full Hitori experience.
