From the two original paintings, only sixty dials were carefully curated. These fragments were selected for their balance, depth, and quiet presence. Once set aside, no further dials were made.
Each dial is then preserved through layers of traditional Hitori enamel, brushed by hand and fired in the kiln. Through repeated cycles of firing and polishing, the surface settles into a deep porcelain like gloss, protecting the delicacy of the Washi while allowing its texture and warmth to remain visible.
Like hand crafted indigo cloth or fired pottery, the Washi dials are formed by process rather than uniformity. Fibres shift, tones breathe, and textures settle naturally. These variations are not imperfections, but the quiet marks of human touch. What you receive will be uniquely yours, shaped by time, care, and chance.
