Habuka 39 Deluxe

Since its debut in the sports watch scene with the Ryukyu Diver collection, Hitori has quickly made its mark. Inspired by the vibrant spirit of the 1960s and the colorful Ryukyu Islands, the collection captured the adventurous essence of early scuba diving. Riding on that success, Hitori unveiled the Habuka 39 Deluxe Special in March 2023—featuring a rich deep ocean blue dial, a gilt second hand, and a refined chapter ring that added greater visual depth to the dial.

Now, evolving the Habuka into a full-fledged series, Hitori proudly introduces the new Habuka 39—an artful fusion of design elements from the original Snow White and the Deluxe Special. Crafted with precision in Asia, the Habuka 39 reflects the serene beauty of Japan’s snowy alps, specifically drawing from the tranquil village of Hakuba.

Exquisite Craftsmanship Behind Japanese Case Design

Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case strikes a harmonious balance between timeless proportions and modern sportiness. Its silhouette pays tribute to the utilitarian charm of 1950s sports watches, yet remains effortlessly versatile for both men and women. Executed with meticulous care, the case features high polishing and distortion-free mirror finishing—an uncommon level of refinement in its category. A flushed sapphire crystal elegantly crowns the dial, framed by a polished bezel and applied hour markers that lend clarity, depth, and sophistication.

Hitori refines the form further with a slimmer mid-case and a slightly reduced bezel, resulting in a sleek, wearable profile—particularly suited to smaller wrists. This thoughtful construction enhances visual balance while showcasing fine craftsmanship in every detail. The fully polished bezel flows seamlessly into the beveled lugs at a crisp angle, creating an elevated aesthetic. Drilled lug holes offer practical versatility, welcoming strap enthusiasts to personalize their timepiece with ease—all without compromising the watch’s understated elegance.

Sapphire Craftsmanship and Dial Details

At first glance, this timepiece captivates with its stunning dial texture, reminiscent of Japan’s snow-covered mountains, evoking the stillness and beauty of a serene winter landscape. The frosty finish highlights the brand’s strong connection to these tranquil terrains, offering a sense of calm and quiet elegance. The uneven texture, with its subtle crevices, creates a play of light and shadow, adding depth while contrasting with the immaculate precision of the case, hands, and markers. This “snowy texture” catches the light in a mesmerizing way, drawing admiration from watch enthusiasts.

Balancing this organic beauty are high-gloss applied hour markers, each finely polished and placed beneath a flawlessly flushed sapphire crystal. The trapezoidal and rectangular indexes reflect the same refined craftsmanship seen on the case, while a date window at 3 o’clock, framed by a convex metallic gold surround, adds a functional yet subtle touch. The result is a timepiece that blends nature’s inspiration with watchmaking precision, creating an elegant and timeless piece.

Precision-Engineered Japanese Movement

With its screw-down case back, the watch gracefully reveals the beating heart within—Hitori’s choice of the refined Japanese automatic calibre NH35. This 12-ligne movement, fitted with 24 jewels, offers manual winding, quick date correction, and hacking seconds, all operated seamlessly via the screw-down crown at 3 o’clock. Beating at a smooth 3Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour), it provides a dependable 41-hour power reserve. Completing the experience is a heat-blued winding rotor, adding a visually striking element that echoes the watch’s thoughtful design harmony.
